The Los Angeles Thieves have secured the 2025 Call of Duty League (CDL) Major 3 title, defeating Vancouver Surge in a decisive grand final held at the Eleanor R. Baldwin Arena. Hosted by the Miami Heretics, this marks the Thieves' second final appearance of the season—and their first Major win of the year.
The championship win makes LA Thieves just the second franchise to lift a Major trophy in the 2025 season.
LA Thieves kicked off their Major 3 campaign with a strong performance, comfortably dispatching Carolina Royal Ravens in their opening match. They continued their momentum with a dominant sweep of the host team, Miami Heretics, securing a place in the winners bracket final.
There, they faced Vancouver Surge in a tightly contested 3-2 series—one of the closest matchups of the event. The Thieves managed to edge out the win, earning a spot in their second grand final of the season.

Vancouver Surge, widely regarded as one of the most improved teams in the CDL this season, responded with resilience. After their narrow loss to LA, they bounced back by defeating Toronto Ultra in the losers bracket final. Toronto, dealing with a roster setback due to Ben ‘Beans’ McMellon being sidelined by visa issues, were unable to stop the Surge’s playoff push.
The rematch between LA Thieves and Vancouver Surge in the grand final, however, was all one-sided. The Thieves dominated the series to claim the Major 3 title and assert themselves as a top contender for the remainder of the season.
