FIA Reveals MENA Esports Championship 2025

The Fédération Internationale de l’Automobile (FIA) has announced that the upcoming MENA Esports Championship 2025 will be the first sim racing competition to operate under the FIA’s International Sporting Code. The event is scheduled to run from November 13 to 15, 2025, in Amman, Jordan, marking a significant milestone in the governing body’s growing involvement in virtual motorsport.

In accordance with the code, the FIA will assign a dedicated race director, two international stewards, and a sporting coordinator responsible for setting the official sporting regulations of the tournament. This move brings a new layer of structure and professionalism to sim racing, aligning it more closely with traditional motorsport governance.

Launched in 2021, the FIA MENA Esports Championship has quickly become one of the Middle East’s most prominent sim racing events. Supported by the FIA Sport Grant Programme, the competition has drawn more than 1,200 participants from across the region since its inception, helping to establish a thriving esports motorsport scene in MENA.

“We are delighted to present the FIA MENA Esports Championship, which will further raise the profile of this thriving motorsport discipline both at regional level and on a global scale,” said Niroshan Pereira, President of the FIA Esports Commission. “It is the result of many years of hard work and a pioneering vision. We look forward to following the competition.”

The road to the championship began earlier this year, with qualifications kicking off in September. Forty drivers took part in the regional qualifier, and the top 24 will move on to the main event, which will be contested on Gran Turismo 7. The winner will not only be crowned MENA Esports Champion but will also receive an invitation to the FIA Awards.
