According to recent reports, Activision Blizzard is said to be considering layoffs at its Irish office situated in Blackpool, Cork. According to the Irish Examiner, Irish deputy prime minister Michéal Martin stated that approximately 136 individuals would be impacted by the potential cuts. The Cork studio, established in 2007, currently employs around 200 people.

Irish MP Barry stated "Companies should not be allowed to waltz into this country, announce life-changing cutbacks to people's jobs and simply refuse to talk to the representatives chosen by people who have given long years of service to their employer."
