Today, a U.S. judge agreed to the Federal Trade Commission's (FTC) plea to stop Microsoft's acquisition of Activision Blizzard. Furthermore, the judge scheduled a hearing for next week to address the matter. If there was no court intervention, Microsoft could have finalized the $69B deal this week. In December 2022, the FTC requested an administrative halt to the acquisition. Microsoft President Brad Smith said. “We believe accelerating the legal process in the U.S will ultimately bring more choice and competition to the market.”
