Infinite Reality announced the acquisition of Ethereal Engine for $75m. The companies agreed in a share swap for the purchase. Infinite Reality CEO John Acunto, stated “We are excited to begin working with Ethereal Engine’s impressive team of industry pioneers to integrate our technology stacks, and expand our product and service offerings.”

According to the release, Ethereal leverages JavaScript frameworks to create scalable multiplayer infrastructures for games and social experiences on the web. It offers features like voice and video capabilities, expressive avatars, and a dedicated visual editor.
