Recently Epic Games finalized the sale of Bandcamp to Songtradr. Following the announcement Songtradr released a statement and revealed that 50% of the employees will be fired by Epic Games. The company stated "Songtradr wrote in a statement. “It required some adjustments to ensure a sustainable and healthy company that can serve its community of artists and fans. After a comprehensive evaluation, including the importance of roles for smooth business operations and pre existing functions at Songtradr, 50% of Bandcamp employees have accepted offers to join Songtradr.”

120 employees will be laid off with six months of severance package. Epic Games acquired Bandcamp in 2022 for $273m. Bandcamp United union aims to negotiate with Songtradr. Epic Games recently revealed a new initiative called 'Now on Epic'.
