A new Fortnite skin that players have been waiting for is finally available, but getting it right now comes with a high price. The Clyde skin, which mixes the look of a raccoon and a cowboy, can only be unlocked at first by buying the Backbone Pro Controller, which costs $170.
Epic Games releases new skins all the time, and Clyde has been on players’ wish lists for a while. The skin may come to the Item Shop later, but for now the only guaranteed way to get it is through the controller bundle.
Players who already own a Backbone Pro can also receive the Clyde outfit. They can redeem a special code that gives them a short in-game Quest, and once they finish it, Clyde is added to their Locker. Each code can only be redeemed once and cannot be resold or traded, though that may not stop people from trying to sell their codes online.
Everyone else who wants the Clyde outfit will have to buy the controller or wait and hope that Epic Games adds the skin to the Item Shop in the future. There is no information yet on when that might happen or how much the skin would cost if it appears there.
