India-based gaming and sports media company Nazara Technologies has announced the acquisition of UK publisher Curve Games for £21.7 million, marking a significant step in its push to expand beyond mobile gaming into the global PC and console markets.
The deal, part of Nazara’s broader strategy to grow through mergers and acquisitions, is aimed at enhancing the company’s publishing capabilities and strengthening its portfolio of cross-platform IPs.
“Curve's proven expertise in PC and console publishing makes them an ideal partner as we expand our focus beyond mobile into high-quality cross-platform gaming,” said Nitish Mittersain, CEO of Nazara Technologies. “This acquisition deepens our capabilities, brings exceptional IP into our fold, and strengthens our mission in building Nazara as a global gaming powerhouse from India. Curve will also serve as a gateway to the world for Indian game developers.”
Nazara emphasized that Curve’s established position in the indie game publishing space would play a pivotal role in helping the company scale its global operations and reach new audiences. Founded in 2005 by Jason Perkins, Curve Games has built a reputation through successful indie titles such as Human: Fall Flat, Dungeons of Hinterberg, and The Ascent.
Commenting on the acquisition, Curve Games' executive chairman Stuart Dinsey expressed optimism about the partnership. “Joining the Nazara family is an exciting new chapter for Curve. Nazara's ecosystem, access to emerging markets and long-term orientation make them a strong strategic partner,” he said. “We are aligned in our vision of building a leading global indie platform, and we look forward to the next phase of growth together.”
