PlayVS has renewed its partnership with Nintendo of America to include middle schools in their competitive gaming leagues. The new agreement allows students in grades 6-12 to compete in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, Splatoon 3, and Mario Kart 8 Deluxe.
The expansion also continues to provide free Nintendo hardware and software to schools. Since 2021, the partnership has distributed over $2.1 million in equipment. PlayVS will also remain free for students.
To date, the leagues have hosted over 73,000 matches with 10,500 teams, involving over 70,000 students across the U.S. and Canada.
