World of Warcraft: The War Within's Race to World First, Team Liquid has etched their name into the history books once again. The North American guild claimed the world first Mythic kill of Dimensius, capping off one of the most grueling and competitive raid races in recent memory — and completing a clean sweep of all Mythic bosses in the War Within expansion.
This victory not only cements Team Liquid’s dominance in the current raid tier, Manaforge Omega, but also marks the most commanding Race to World First run by a North American guild in WoW’s modern era.

A Landmark Victory in the Race to World First
The final encounter, Dimensius, pushed top guilds to their absolute limits. Team Liquid required 385 pulls to secure the kill — a staggering number that more than doubled the combined pulls of every other boss in the raid tier.
“Dimensius is a boss that requires perfect coordination out of all 20 players in the group for all three stages. If just one player makes a mistake at any point during the fight, there is a high probability that the group wipes.”
That level of intensity was felt across the race, with elite guilds like Echo breathing down Liquid’s neck the entire time. The narrow margin between the top two guilds made for one of the closest finishes in modern Race to World First history, elevating the spectacle of competitive raiding to new heights.
What Made Dimensius So Brutally Difficult?
The Mythic Dimensius encounter was not just another end-boss — it was a test of unparalleled precision and endurance. Spanning three distinct phases, the fight demanded absolute perfection from all 20 players.
During Phase Two, for example, teams were required to use every tool at their disposal to survive and execute. Movement utility became a defining factor, with top guilds innovating under pressure.
“During the second phase, the players must utilize every piece of movement utility they have to take down the two mini-bosses and traverse safely on the crowded platforms. Both Liquid and Echo began using perfectly placed Warlock gates to optimize their movement between mechanics.”
The execution of this strategy was just one of many reasons Liquid pulled ahead, showing that even in a race of inches, tactical ingenuity can win the day.
The War Within’s final raid, Manaforge Omega, introduced some of the most unique raid mechanics ever seen in World of Warcraft. Players were challenged with cloak mechanics, void traversal, and even Tetris-like puzzle elements, pushing guilds to rethink conventional raid strategies.
The complexity of the raid combined with the stamina required to master it made Team Liquid’s clean sweep all the more impressive. In an era of ever-evolving esports, the Race to World First continues to prove that WoW raiding is among the most demanding and rewarding competitions in gaming.
