The upcoming installment in The Sims series, known as Project Rene, will be available for play at launch without the need for purchasing the core game or subscribing to a service according to Electronic Arts.
In a recent update called "Behind The Sims Community," Lyndsay Pearson, the Vice President of franchise creative, shared that the game will introduce "new experiences and content" to players gradually, utilizing a slightly different approach compared to the current DLC model in The Sims 4.
For instance, if the base game includes weather features, players will have the option to purchase additional content related to seasonal activities. Pearson explained that adopting this approach allows for the potential use of weather elements like wind, rain, or clouds in future expansion packs as well.
