Team Liquid is expanding its League of Legends roster in the League of Legends Tournament Americas (LTA) by signing Ganbat “Yuuji” Ulziidelger as a sixth man, according to a report by Sheep Esports. The move brings added depth to the team’s jungle position ahead of the North Split 2.

Yuuji, a 22-year-old standout from Mongolia, is a two-time MVP in the North American Challengers League (NACL) and the only player in the league’s history to win back-to-back MVP honors. His addition marks a significant pickup for Team Liquid, especially given the recent track record of NACL MVPs. Previous winners—including FlyQuest’s bot lane duo Alan “Busio” Cwalina and Fahad “Massu” Abdulmalek, as well as Near Airport’s top laner Niship “Dhokla” Doshi—have all gone on to reach top-eight finishes at the League of Legends World Championship.

Despite his accomplishments, Yuuji reportedly struggled to land a team during the offseason due to timing issues and complications with residency status. Riot Games has since granted him EMEA residency, which opened doors across several regions. Sheep Esports notes that teams from LTAN, the LEC, and ERLs expressed interest in signing him.

Yuuji first rose to prominence while living in Mongolia, where he earned a reputation as a high-ping solo queue prodigy. He reached Diamond 1 on the North American server with 200 ping and Challenger on EUW with 150 ping. A former multi-role competitor, Yuuji began his career playing support and mid lane for Bethany Lutheran College, a North American collegiate team.

At Team Liquid, Yuuji will compete for the starting jungle spot alongside veteran South Korean jungler Um “UmTi” Sung-hyeon. The two have already been sharing scrim time over the past few months, making the transition a relatively smooth one for the team.
