Tencent's Level Infinite and Esports World Cup Foundation have announced that Honor of Kings, a popular MOBA title in Asia, will be a featured game in the upcoming Esports World Cup, set to take place this summer in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
The Honor of Kings Invitational Midseason will pit 12 teams from across the globe for a $3m prize pool. The event will be a qualifier for the Honor of Kings Invitational Championship later in the year. The event will take place in August. In celebration of this collaboration, Esports World Cup and Honor of Kings will introduce an exclusive in-game skin.
James Yang, Senior Director of Level Infinite Global Esports Center, Tencent Games stated “Honor of Kings is the latest example of our commitment to the mobile esports space, as we continue to prioritise our investment in the esports landscape. We can’t wait to kick off the launch of the Global Invitational Series with the Honor of Kings Invitational Season One on March 2 in Istanbul, and to offer aspiring competitive players from around the world the chance to become a champion through a new global mobile esport.”
