In a significant move, Fortnite has lifted its longstanding region lock on tournaments, with the exception of the Fortnite Champion Series (FNCS). Riot Games' change marks a departure from previous seasons where players were restricted to competing solely within their designated region.
Effective immediately, competitors across Europe and North America now have the freedom to participate in various tournaments interchangeably. This means European players can join North American events and vice versa, offering greater flexibility and opportunity to showcase their skills on a global stage.

The region lock had previously prevented players from entering the same tournament on both European and North American servers, limiting their competitive options.
Fortnite's decision to lift the region lock on tournaments not only impacts competitive play but also holds significant implications for content creators. With top players now able to participate in tournaments across different regions, content creation stands to benefit immensely. This change allows creators to offer more diverse and engaging content as they follow their favorite players across various competitions.
