Endpoint is parting ways with its CS2 team.On February 4th, 2025, Endpoint shared a heartfelt statement on X (formerly Twitter) informing the esports community that its CS2 roster had been benched and was now available with no buyout.
The Valve Regional Standings (VRS), introduced in 2024, is the new ranking system used to determine team invitations to major tournaments. The VRS ranks teams based on factors like prize money, victories over strong opponents, and LAN tournament performances, all calculated by Valve’s algorithm.

In their announcement, Endpoint explained how the VRS system can disadvantage lower-ranked teams. Since many VRS-eligible events are invite-only, teams outside of the top tier find it difficult to qualify and climb in the rankings. This creates a cycle where lower-tier teams, often underfunded and without the resources to grind like the top teams, struggle to improve their position.
“We know that sometimes teams just don’t work and it’s not a reflection on the players as individuals or the effort they have put into the project,” wrote Endpoint’s COO Peter Thompson and CEO Adam Jessop.
Endpoint expressed pride in its team's achievements over the past five years, reaffirming that they were not closing the door on Counter-Strike esports entirely. They hinted at the possibility of forming a new team in the future and emphasized their commitment to continuing the growth and development of the UK Counter-Strike scene.
