Esports Engine, a subsidiary of ESL FACEIT Group, has reportedly laid off several employees, including those from ESL FACEIT Group. The company is expected to close its Burbank, California office, where between 20 and 30 employees were based, with most likely affected by the layoffs.
Broadcast Producer Ray Reese shared on LinkedIn, “After four years, my time with EFG, formerly Esports Engine, may be coming to an end soon.”

Operations Producer and Project and Production Manager Megan Isgett-Foster also expressed her feelings about the situation, stating, “While it’s not unexpected given the company’s trajectory, it was heartbreaking.”
This marks the second round of layoffs for Esports Engine in the last two years. In July 2023, the company laid off 65 employees following its parent company's acquisition by ESL FACEIT Group in March. ESL FACEIT Group also announced a 15% workforce reduction, affecting between 250 and 300 employees.
