Team Liquid, just made a major move to safeguard its massive archive of content. The organization has shifted over 250TB of historical material including match highlights, behind-the-scenes videos, photos, and older media to the Walrus Foundation for decentralized storage.
Team Liquid explained that the switch helps make everything more accessible for their team members around the world. It cuts down on slowdowns when pulling up old clips or images, and it sets up the archive to stay preserved for the long haul while being easier to manage and repurpose in daily operations.
The company stated that they chose Walrus as part of a bigger push to update how they handle internal tech. No details came out about money involved or if newer content will join the migration down the line.

So, What Exactly Is the Walrus Foundation?
Walrus is a decentralized storage system built on the Sui blockchain. It focuses on handling huge amounts of data efficiently, with features like proof-of-availability to confirm files stay intact and accessible. Data gets broken down, spread across a network of storage nodes, and tied together with metadata tracked on Sui chain.
According to release, the platform stands out because it supports massive scale without the usual headaches of traditional centralized setups. It also lets storage capacity become tokenized, opening doors for integration into apps on Sui and even crossing over to chains like Ethereum or Solana.
For Team Liquid, this migration represents one of the largest single uploads to Walrus so far, boosting the platform's total stored data. It gives the org a more future-proof way to keep fan-favorite moments alive and potentially explore fresh ways to share or monetize that content.
Recently Team Liquid locked in an official gaming chair deal with Blacklyte, teamed up with Duelbits for sponsorship.
