Tencent, founded in November 1998 in Shenzhen, China, is a leading multinational technology conglomerate. Established by Ma Huateng (Pony Ma), Zhang Zhidong, Chen Yidan, Xu Chenye, and Zeng Liqing, the company initially focused on instant messaging with its launch of QQ in 1999.
